We Are Now Open! All prospective clients must complete the pre-screening form first.
Our Mission
We are committed to providing professional, compassionate care for young people and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, life changes, ADHD, academic pressure, or relationship struggles, our goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood.
Together, we will work to establish understanding of their life, build resilience, develop coping skills, and foster confidence, all while helping clients clarify their goals and navigate the path toward a fulfilling future. We are dedicated to meeting each person where they are and empower them to take the steps necessary to become their best.
“To understand the 'why' is to understand the behavior, and in that understanding, healing begins.”
-Dr. Thomas
Why Therapy is Important
Therapy is a place where you can feel safe, heard, and supported while working through whatever life throws at you. Whether you're struggling with something, working through a past experience, or simply trying to figure out your next steps, therapy is here to support you. It's a space to understand yourself deeper and gain the tools you need to move forward with clarity and confidence. Just like you’d go to the doctor if you’re physically hurt, taking care of your mental health is just as important. When you take care of you, everything else flows from a stronger, healthier place.
What Therapy is Not
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you or telling you how to live your life. It’s about understanding, empowerment, growth and thriving. It’s a safe place where we work together to explore what’s going on in your life and figure out what works best for you. You don’t need to have all the answers or be perfect. Therapy is about showing up, being real, and finding your way forward at your own pace.
Breaking the Stigma
There’s often a stigma surrounding therapy, but seeking help doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It’s about recognizing that mental health is just as important as physical health. As mentioned, just like you’d go to a doctor when something feels off physically, therapy is how you take care of your emotional and mental health. It’s a brave step toward healing, getting to know yourself better, and creating a life that actually feels good.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy offers a supportive, confidential space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to better understand what’s going on in your life. We’ll work on building your confidence and I'll teach you better coping skills, and support you in creating attainable goals. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Together, we’ll sort through things so you can move forward feeling lighter, stronger, and more grounded.

Confidentiality & Security of Telehealth Counseling
A wise woman told me that trust is like glass. Once it is broken it can be reconstructed but it'll never be the same. That said, your privacy and confidentiality are my top priority. All telehealth counseling sessions are conducted through a Simple Practice and Headwat, two secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms which ensures your personal information and conversations remain confidential. Just like in-person sessions, everything you share is protected, and your mental health records are kept safe through this platform.
All email and phone correspondences are facilitated through Spruce Health, also a HIPPA-Compliant platform.
As a licensed professional, I am committed to maintaining a confidential environment so you can feel comfortable sharing openly. However, it’s important to note that there are exceptions to confidentiality, which include situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse, or when required by law. In these cases, I am legally obligated to take appropriate actions to ensure safety.
At Haven, I create a safe, respectful space where you can speak freely, knowing your confidentiality is protected.
We believe in providing transparency and clarity around the cost of therapy services. As part of the No Surprises Act, I am committed to ensuring you understand the estimated costs of your therapy services before they begin.
Payment Options
You have a couple of payment options for your counseling sessions. You can either pay the full cost of services out of pocket or use health insurance to cover part of the cost.
If you choose to use insurance, please be aware that you may have a copay or co-insurance depending on your provider and coverage. Your insurance company will determine the copay for behavioral health services, so I recommend verifying your benefits, including your deductible amount with your insurance provider before your first appointment.
Additionally, please confirm whether your insurance covers teletherapy (virtual sessions). Virtual sessions are limited to those who reside in Georgia.
Haven CES is now fully credentialed with United Healthcare (Optum) insurance. If you're paying out of pocket or using United Healthcare (Optum) (not offered through Headway), you'll continue to use the SimplePractice client portal for scheduling, payments, and paperwork.
Dr. Thomas will provide instructions on how to access your client portal during the screening process. Must got through screening first.
To better support your needs, I’ve partnered with Headway, a secure HIPPA-Compliant platform that simplifies the insurance process—handling verification, billing, and claims on your behalf.
I am fully credentialed to accept the following insurance plans through Headway (Georgia residents only):
Carelon Behavioral Health
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
Quest Behavioral Health
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia
Cigna
Aetna
You’ll be able to view your copay and benefits directly through the platform. To explore this option, Dr. Thomas will provide scheduling information during your screening process (must go through screening first).
Self-Pay Rates:
Intake Biopsychosocial Assessment (60-minute session): $150
60-minute Individual Remote Session: $120
45-minute Individual Remote Session: $100
These rates are based on my years of experience, the cost of living in Georgia, and market research for the area. I am dedicated to providing affordable and accessible services for all clients and aim to offer the highest quality care in a safe, supportive environment.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not using insurance (also known as “self-pay” or “private pay”) have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of therapy services.
This estimate outlines the anticipated fees for services based on what we discuss and plan together. It helps you make informed decisions about your care without unexpected costs down the line.
Please keep in mind:
If your needs change over time or additional services are requested, your estimate may be updated to reflect those changes.
You always have the right to pause or stop services at any time with no penalty.
If your actual charges end up being $400 or more above the estimate you received, you have the right to initiate a dispute resolution process.
This is all part of making sure your care is transparent, respectful, and aligned with your goals from the start. For more details about your rights under the No Surprises Act, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
Dr. Thomas is currently credentialed with several insurance panels and is in the process of joining additional networks. For clients whose insurance is not yet in-network, self-pay is available, and superbills can be provided for potential reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network benefits.
If you're a self-pay client with out-of-network benefits, a superbill (also called a Statement for Insurance Reimbursement) can be provided once in-network approval is confirmed. This document includes the information your insurance may require for reimbursement, such as service codes, diagnosis, and payment details.
Please note that not all insurance plans accept superbills, so it’s important to check with your provider in advance to verify your out-of-network benefits.
If you're unsure about your costs or need help understanding your coverage, please reach out. I’m happy to help you navigate the process and ensure things feel as smooth and transparent as possible.
Payment is due before each session. We accept all major credit cards for self-pay fees, copays, or coinsurance (all transactions are processed through Simple Practice or Headway). Before your first appointment, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider to confirm your copay and coverage for outpatient behavioral health services.
Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider:
Understanding your mental health benefits is an important part of starting therapy. To help you get a clearer picture of what your plan covers, I recommend asking your insurance provider the following questions:
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits for outpatient services?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
Is there a limit to the number of sessions I can have each year?
Do I need a referral or written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?
Does my plan cover tele-mental health services?
These questions can help you feel more confident and informed as you move forward with scheduling your first session.
Payment for all services, including any copays, is due at the start of each session. I accept all major debit and credit cards for your convenience.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me at least 24 to 48 hours' notice. This allows space for someone else who may need support. Cancellations made with less than 24-48 hours’ notice or missed sessions without notice will incur a $75 fee.
To keep things running smoothly, please note that future sessions cannot be scheduled until any outstanding balances are resolved.
If you have questions about payment or need support navigating your schedule, feel free to reach out. I’m here to help.

What to Expect During Your 60 minute
Intake Biopsychosocial Assessment
The first session is all about connection and clarity. It’s our time to begin building trust, review key policies and consent forms, and talk through what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.
Before we move into ongoing sessions, we’ll complete an initial biopsychosocial assessment, which is a "whole person" evaluation that gives me a deeper understanding of your lived experiences. This includes:
Biological: your medical and physical health history
Psychological: your mental and emotional well-being
Social: your relationships, circle, work or school life, and support systems
This step helps me create a strong foundation for our work. It gives me insight into where you’ve been, where you are now, and how I can best support you as you move forward.

The Resilient Hearts Scholarship (Application Open November 2025)
I’m proud to offer two scholarships each year for teens and young adults (ages 13 to 29) who want to begin therapy but are facing financial barriers. This program is one of the ways I stay connected to my purpose and give back to the community that continues to shape me.
This scholarship reflects a core value in my practice: being of service to all mankind. I believe that access to mental health care shouldn't be a privilege, and I’m committed to creating space for those who may not otherwise have the means to receive support.
Through this offering, my hope is to help people prioritize their mental health, build resilience, and grow into the strongest versions of themselves, all while contributing to the well-being of the communities we’re part of.

Coming in 2026: In-Person Sessions
We are in the process of expanding to offer in-person therapy alongside Telehealth therapy. Finding the right space takes time, and we’re being intentional in choosing a location that reflects the care and atmosphere you deserve. More updates to come as this vision takes shape.
